AUTOCRYPT and SRI Collaborate to Advance Cybersecurity for Intelligent Robotic Systems

AUTOCRYPT, a leading Physical AI security solutions provider, announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Shanghai Robot Industrial Technology Research Institute (SRI) (Link) to jointly advance cybersecurity testing, evaluation, and standardization for the robotics industry.

The collaboration aims to proactively address emerging cybersecurity threats across the rapidly evolving robotics landscape and develop security validation technologies that reflect real-world operating environments and the interconnected nature of intelligent robotic systems.

Established in 2017, the Shanghai Robot Industrial Technology Research Institute (SRI) specializes in robotics research and development, China Robot (CR) Certification, technical services, and the commercialization of research outcomes. Through the collaboration, both parties aim to establish security frameworks for robotic systems as adoption expands across manufacturing, logistics, services, healthcare, and other industries.

Intelligent robotic systems are becoming increasingly complex, integrating cameras, LiDAR and other sensors, AI-based perception and decision-making capabilities, cloud and wireless communications, and remote monitoring systems. As connectivity with external systems increases, so does the need to address cyber threats targeting communication interfaces, software, sensors, and connected infrastructure.

Building on its existing Cybersecurity Testing Platform (CSTP), AUTOCRYPT is extending its capabilities to robotic systems through ‘AutoCrypt CSTP for Robot,’ designed to support vulnerability analysis, security testing, and cybersecurity validation across diverse robotics environments.

“Intelligent robots, including humanoids, are emerging as complex Physical AI systems that perceive, make decisions, and continuously communicate with external systems, making cybersecurity essential to ensuring their safety and trustworthiness,” said Duksoo Kim, Co-Founder and CEO of AUTOCRYPT. “By extending our automotive and mobility cybersecurity expertise into robotics, we aim to strengthen our global leadership in the Physical AI space.”
